Cedar Rapids-based White Lion Treasures is proud to announce the addition of three new service offerings. This comes after Michelle Bell, owner and operator, achieved certifications in general auctioneering, personal property appraising, and charity auctioneering from the Continental Auctioneers School.
The auctioneering certifications acknowledge professionals who have successfully demonstrated their abilities to run an auction from start to finish. These abilities include bid calling, cashiering, online auctions, ethics, and more.
As a certified personal property appraiser, Bell possesses the unique skill to accurately value tangible personal items. Determining an unbiased and justified opinion on value is an important step for families and individuals to part ways with personal property, some of which may have a sentimental value as well.
“We’re all aware of the hardships faced by retail establishments due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To survive and thrive means to think outside the box when it comes to product and service offerings,” explains Bell. “These three certifications are an important step in pivoting our business model while keeping local individuals employed. That’s what we’re most proud of!”
Bell continued by adding, “during the government shutdown of our business in 2020, friends of White Lion contacted us for recommendations on how to handle their family’s estate. With limited options, we wanted to step up to the plate. Expanding our services, in this case with estate sales, was a major step in helping our friends and community in a time of need.”
General auctioneering, charity auctioneering, and personal property appraisal services are all available now at White Lion Treasures. For more information, please visit White Lion Treasures or call (319) 200-7878.
